Educational Component of Event Leadership Williston (LW) is an 8-month program centered on cultivating leaders each year through community engagement and exploration and professional development. The program is designed to expose existing and emerging leaders to the issues our region faces by using the community as a living classroom. One aspect of this is that every other year we invite the prior and current Leadership Williston participants on a trip down to Bismarck where they have the opportunity tour the capitol, sit in on hearings/floor session, and meet with our local legislatures (Districts 1, 2, and 23). This is a great opportunity for our participants to meet their local representatives and learn more about the initiatives that they're working on.

We invited nine of our local representatives, however only three have confirmed that they'll be able to meet with us: Todd Beard, David Richter, and Patrick Hatlestad (tentatively). We will be meeting with them at the El Coqui Latinos Cafeteria for a causal lunch and learn.

We hope that this day can be used to better connect the emerging leaders in our community with the current happenings in our government.
